Encouraging Reading in Your Family
If your kids are spending too much time watching http://www.direct.tv TV and not enough time reading you’ve got to do something now before it’s too late. Encouraging your kids to read is one of the best investments you can make in their future and here’s how
Lead by example: Make sure your kids see you reading. It’s imperative you teach your kids that a love of reading is lifelong and that reading’s a great way to entertain yourself even as an adult. It will sink in, trust us.
Practice Vocab: Perhaps your kids aren’t reading because they’re not understanding the books you give them. Make sure you hand them things that are their reading level and spend some time helping them expand their vocabulary.
Read With Them: If you’re lucky enough to have kids the age they still like to spend time with you you’ve got to take advantage of it. Make sure they know reading’s a family activity and don’t forget how much joy they’re going to get out of bonding with you.
